Supportive Housing @ Cozy Bear

Supportive homes for older adults and vulnerable seniors in Cranbrook’s Cozy Bear Lodge

In 2026 we are welcoming older adults and vulnerable seniors into a 31-unit supportive housing project. Together with BC Housing, the former Lazy Bear Lodge has been converted to homes with support services at 621 Cranbrook Street North, now named Cozy Bear Lodge.

Supportive housing is for adults who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and need supports to maintain their housing. People living in supportive housing can be adults, seniors, people with disabilities, or anyone who has experienced trauma, poverty, or struggled with the high cost of housing.

Services are individualized and determined through individual wellness plans.

Each program participant will have access to daily meals, staff support, and services that support their personal goals. These services can include referrals to health supports, social activities, counselling, financial and employment counselling, cultural and religious services, and more. Supportive housing is not assisted living. Staff do not support program participants with personal care or housecleaning.

How to Apply

To apply for housing, contact Homeless Outreach and Prevention to explore local options and complete an application through BC Housing. Placement in Cozy Bear Lodge is not guaranteed and eligibility is assessed on a person-to-person basis.
