Community Action Program for Children


The CAPC program offers a variety of drop-in groups in Cranbrook and Kimberley. All CAPC programs are offered free of charge to families with children from birth to age 6.

Parent participation/supervision is required at all CAPC programs. During the Covid-19 pandemic, programming will be adjusted according to health regulations. If you have questions regarding any of the programs, please contact:

Family Supper Night

Tumble Time is for children up to age 6. It is an unstructured group where children can run, climb, and play with their parents’/caregiver’s supervision. No sign-up required.


Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30-11:00

Baby & Me is a free drop-in program for parents and infants aged birth to one year, focusing on the pleasure and power of using rhymes and songs. The relaxed atmosphere also allows time for parents to get to know each other.

Tuesdays 10:00 – 12:00 at the Kootenay Child Development Centre #22 12th Avenue North, where Bellies to Babies is located.

Wiggle, Giggle and Grow is for families with children from birth to six years of age.Join us for a nutritious snack, play with toys, create crafts, sing songs, read stories, and meet other families.

Wednesdays 10:00 – 12:00 at the Kootenay Child Development Centre #22 12th Avenue North, where Bellies to Babies is located. 

Parents in the Park is a summertime drop-in program at Rotary Park in July and August on Wednesday from 10:00-12:00, weather permitting.
