Community Kitchen

Community Connections Society of Southeast BC believes that all people should have equal access to healthy, affordable and culturally appropriate local food. It is this belief system that inspires our organization to create kitchen projects that support food security for our community.

Food is our common ground, a universal experience.

-James Beard

No matter what our cultural background is, the preparation and eating of food is something we all have in common with one another. But food is much more than nourishment; it is the vehicle through which we communicate sentiments, express our creativity and create memories. And it is in the sharing of food with others that keeps us connected.

Many of our programs offer program participants a healthy meal, and we are currently expanding our kitchen programs. Our vision is a Community Kitchen that serves a diverse community of residents and encourages culinary knowledge, health, and inclusiveness.

The Community Kitchen consists of a spacious and efficient commercial kitchen, dining are and common space.
